FIELD OF APPLICATION
MwStop® check valves effectively protect against backwater, flooding and additionally against odour nuisance.
- Main collector
- Sewer pipes
- Storm water pipes
- Clarification basins
DIMENSIONS UP TO DN2000
Backwater protection
The MwStop® backwater valve reliably protects your building from high water levels, flooding and overflow. The integrated membrane reliably closes the pipe leading to the property in the event of backwater, e.g. during heavy weather events or failure of the pumping station. This reliably protects your building from flooding due to backwater.
Odour control
Bad odours from the sewage system are efficiently prevented from entering the building by the MwStop® backflow valve. The innovative membrane also closes the pipe when it is not in use, thus preventing unpleasant odours. Another positive effect is the optimal protection of the property against pests penetrating through the sewer system.
Easy Installation
The MwStop®check valve can be easily installed in any standard pipe size. Retrofitting in existing networks is also possible at any time in the simplest way. As a result, the backwater valve can be retrofitted without any problems not only in new construction projects but also in existing buildings.
FUNCTIONING of the MwStop® check valve
As soon as water flows in the direction of flow through the pipe to be secured, the MwStop® check valve is subjected to increasing pressure. This pushes the diaphragm upwards so that the water can flow freely below the valve. The rising water pressure triggers a controlled surge flushing, which consequently ensures the regular removal of existing sediments. On the other hand, the tight seal reliably prevents unpleasant odours in the pipe network. As soon as water flows against the direction of flow through the pipe to be secured, the MwStop® check valve fills up and consequently effectively prevents the water from backing up. The backwater height varies depending on the MwStop® model (maximum 8,000mm).
One MwStop® – 3 FUNCTIONS
- Backflow prevention
- Odour control
- Surge flushing
One MwStop® – MANY ADVANTAGES
- extremely low pressure drop
- without moving parts
- for all pipe materials and sizes
- very simple installation
- long service life
LONG SERVICE LIFE
The design, which has been reduced to an optimum, and the use of high quality materials of the MwStop® check valve are designed to convince with a long service life. In addition, the MwStop® check valves are an effective add-on for every object.
INSTALLATION
MwStop® can be installed in practically any pipe, by the way, even retrofitted, in just a few minutes. Therefore, the backwater valve immediately provides effective protection against floods, foreign bodies and annoying odours. The wide range of MwStop® check valves ensures that the right MwStop® model is available for every application. Areas of application include, for example, backwater protection of the sewage system, use in rainwater pipes or, for example, to prevent the formation of odours in combined sewers.
MwStop® valves can be installed in a wide variety of ways in any position. Full functionality is provided from horizontal to vertical.
BACKWATER HEIGHTS
MAXIMUM BACKWATER PROTECTION
- The standard MwStop® models provide backflow protection up to a height of 5,000mm water column.
- The soft versions of the MwStop® check valve offer backwater protection up to a height of 3,000mm water column.
- Special designs up to 8,000mm backflow protection are available on request.
TYPES
DIFFERENT MwStop® SIZES FOR ALL CURRENT INSIDE PIPE DIAMETERS.
The MwStop® check valves are available as standard up to DN2000 and are thus available for practically all common internal pipe diameters and pipe materials. We are happy to supply special sizes on request!
MwStop® STANDARD
FOR SLOPES ≥2%
In order to ensure the full functionality of the standard version of the MwStop® check valves, a slope of at least 2% is required. In order to be able to open specifically, a certain water pressure is required on the MwStop® diaphragm. This minimum pressure also ensures that controlled surge flushing is triggered when the diaphragm is opened.
MwStop® SOFT
FOR LOW SLOPES
A product version with softer membrane material is used for installation with a gradient of less than 2% (min. 1%). It ensures that the MwStop® opens reliably even in these cases and provides for the safe removal of the wastewater that accumulates, including any deposits.

MATERIALS
HOUSING
The MwStop® housing is made of 1.4404 stainless steel as standard. For sizes up to DN200, for installation as part of a pipe, a PVC/PE variant of the housing can be used as an alternative.
MEMBRANE
The MwStop® diaphragm is manufactured in EPDM up to DN2000. The diaphragm is available in two different versions (standard and soft)
MwStop® check valve – APPLICATIONS
There are numerous causes for backwater in rainwater or sewage pipes. For example, heavy rain or pipe blockages. But both an operational failure in the pumping station and other overloading of the sewage system can become a problem. Another application example is the backwater from water bodies caused by floods. The large quantities of water that suddenly occur can quickly exceed the capacity of the sewage system.
The MwStop® check valve protects against backwater, water ingress and foreign bodies in buildings, sewage and rainwater pipes. In addition, the check valve is an effective protection against odour nuisance from the sewer system.
BUILDING PROTECTION
- Building protection against flooding
- Backwater protection
- Backwater protection Floor inlets
- It is also important to note: The building owner is always responsible for protection against backwater.
FLOOD PROTECTION
- Public sewer
- Backwater protection
- Regulation of waste water
- Triggering of surge flushing
ODOUR VALVE
MwStop® is the perfect solution for nuisance caused by odour-intensive substances from the sewage system, for example during longer dry periods or in facilities and buildings that are not used all year round, so that the siphons dry out and unpleasant odours arise.
HOTEL BUSINESS, HOLIDAY HOMES
- when the siphon dries out after dry periods
- for irregularly used real estate objects
