Company History

MTA Messtechnik GmbH, located at Handelsstraße 16, St. Veit an der Glan, was founded in 2002 by Mr. Marko Taferner, who remains the sole shareholder to this day.
Before becoming self-employed, Mr. Taferner worked for many years for an international consulting firm in numerous countries around the world. He gained his first entrepreneurial experience as a partner in a Swedish company in 1985. After selling his investments, he returned to Austria in 2002 and founded MTA Messtechnik GmbH. He sold his last investments in Sweden in 2017.
From the outset, MTA’s goal was to develop and internationally market technological innovations and niche products for the water and wastewater industry. It maintains an extensive database of pipe defects and condition analyses and is a recognized partner in pipeline diagnostics and pipeline risk analyses.

Efficient and pinpoint leak detection for swimming pools

The MTA Pool Scan is used to check pools for leaks when filled. Accordingly, you no longer have to drain your pool to be checked or wait until the water level has lowered to the leak. On the contrary – the MTA Pool Scan measures the tightness of the pool and its connections when filled. With the help of the probe, you can check inlet and outlet pipes, as well as skimmer nozzles for leaks simply and easily.

Efficient and pinpoint leak detection for flat roofs

The MTA Roof Scan is an innovative leak detection device for use on all types of flat roofs.

Precise location of leaks is possible with the MTA Roof Scan without time-consuming preparations (e.g. removal of the gravel in the test area). All you need to carry out the test is the correctly attached earthing cable, which can be used to establish a voltage circuit to the electronics, and sufficient water to moisten the test area.

Der MTA Pipe Scan dient zur Zustandsermittlung von Abwasserleitungen.

Das elektromagnetische Messverfahren des MTA Pipe Scan dient sowohl der Ortung als auch der Qualifizierung von Schäden in nicht leitfähigen Abwasserrohren.

Bereits in den 90er-Jahren des letzten Jahrhunderts gab es Versuche, Leckagen in Abwasserleitungen mittels Electroscan aufzuspüren. Heute, mehr als 20 Jahre später, gestattet es der Stand der Technologie, das damals angedachte Prinzip in ein zuverlässig funktionierendes Messsystem zur Ermittlung und Bewertung des Rohrzustandes umzusetzen.

Operating Principle

MTA Pipe-Inspector floats battery-operated without cables freely in the media flow of the pipeline system and continuously supplies data from inside the pipeline to record the condition of the examined pipeline section without excavations or pipe separations.

The MTA Pipe-Inspector is inserted via existing T-pieces or, in the case of elevated tanks or vents, by means of a sluice and removed again for data evaluation at an end point to be defined.
